A UNIQUE DOG TRAINING EXPERIENCE
The evaluation is where we begin with new clients.
We cannot help without first understanding. This is an essential time to gather information from both the human's and the dog's perspective. The details that all play impactful roles in the issues that are being presented and how we will solve them. When we take the time to observe and understand, then we're able to create the most effective and appropriate approach for your individual dog/s, scenario and needs.
We believe in a well-rounded, holistic philosophy with results that last, instead of band-aids or quick fixes.
The evaluation begins in the home with about an hour discussion of your dog's background and history of issues, education of how dogs think, communicate, and learn as a species, and concepts of our approach - what we do and why. We then take the dog out of their home without the owner for about 1 - 3 hours (depending on severity of issues) to assess them in different environments. This is an important step to first make sure the dog is capable of doing what we want of them. We will run them through scenarios that have previously been issues to help understand more of who the dog is as an individual, why there are problem behaviors, and how we will need to work with them. We will then meet back at the home for about another 2 - 3 hours to go over video and our findings, work one on one, and discuss a plan moving forward to accomplish your goals with your dog.
The follow up session included in the evaluation price is also usually conducted in the home. The goal here is to tie up any loose ends and to make sure you have a solid understanding of what your dog needs from you. Typically, we'll spend as much time with you as your schedule allows during the follow up.
